Best Indoor Plants for Living Room

Here are a few great indoor plants that you can keep at home.

1. Devil’s Ivy

Often known as pothos or golden pothos, Devil’s Ivy is a forgiving and fast-growing vine that is well suited to any position in the house. They may be kept in glass vases or potted in hanging baskets, but regardless of where they are kept, they will always be amazing and super low-maintenance. The leaves are waxy and heart-shaped.

The leaves ‘ color depends on the cultivar. They do not need daily fertilization and are highly resistant to drought. You are expected to water them once a week. During the summers, the best time to grow this plant is to put the cuttings in water jars to facilitate rooting.

2. Mass Cane

This plant is often an office staple due to its hardy nature and is popular among beginners. Mass Cane has thick, green leaves with green stripes running through them and light yellow, and with stalky stems sometimes grow very tall. This is a fantastic option if you’re looking for large plants. The plant can withstand low light, but in indirect bright light, it is best placed. Only once a week will you need to water it. But, if you have animals in the home, they are not the safest indoor plants as this plant is toxic to cats and dogs.

3. Swiss Cheese Plant

Swiss cheese plants have exuberant green leaves with distinctive holes and can suit any room. They make an amazing statement; this plant is actually one of the most common indoor plants. The plant prefers a warm climate that is kept away from sunlight. Using a soft, moist cloth they also benefit from regular cleaning.

This plant also enjoys a relatively moist environment, so avoiding artificial cooling and heating is safest. They will also need a monthly feeding in containers during spring and summer. They like climbing, of course, so it is best to provide support for a trellis or stake.

4. Mother-in-Law’s Tongue

This is another low-maintenance indoor herb, better known as the Snake plant, that originates from South Asia and Africa. The plant’s leaves have pointed ends, which is why they are called the tongue of the Mother-in-Law. This succulent, upright plant grows up to two meters tall. They’re extremely hard, too.

They don’t wither easily, which makes them a good choice for those who tend to neglect their plants. During the days they should be kept in direct sunlight for a couple of hours. They can tolerate shade, but they may take longer to grow. Moderate water needs. During the summers, the soil may be kept slightly damp, but during the winters it must be a little drier.

5. Maidenhair Fern

It’s a lovely addition to your home. Their leaves are light green with soft, bright stems and feathery. They’d make a magnificent hanging plant. They are really fragile plants and they don’t require too much light or too little.

In a warm place with little humidity, they should be grown well. You can build your own habitat for the rainforest. All you need to do is fill a saucer under the potted plant with pebbles. Pour water into the saucer and it will create a moist micro-climate around the plant when the water evaporates.

6. Rubber Plant

They are also known as Rubber Fig, containing shiny leaves of burgundy and dark green and are on the trend when it comes to indoor plants. You can either encourage them to grow into a large indoor plant, or in a little pot.

Its temperature-resistant and a tough choice requiring indirect, bright light with weekly watering in summers and monthly watering in winters.

7. Areca Palm

This plant can grow with indirect sunlight anywhere in the house. When exposed to direct sunlight for a very long period of time, the leaves will turn yellow. The palms of Areca can grow up to 30 feet if kept outdoors, but only about seven feet if placed indoors.

You may decide to position the plant in a small container, so the crowded roots can help to limit the size of the plant. The plant is a very powerful humidifier that can be watered enough to keep the soil moist except during the winters.
